The overall management of the Foundation is managed by a Board of Directors who individually has deep experience in managing conservation and sustainable development projects – 10 to 15  years of experience. The day-to-day project is managed by Chief Project Executive based in Banda  Aceh and supported by the Head of Program and Head of Operation (finance and admin). The  Foundation operates its accounting, finance, and procurement in accordance and compliance with international development agencies practices e.g World Bank, USAID, and EU.

The Leuser International Foundation (LIF) has four site offices: 

1. Banda Aceh (Campus Syiah Kuala University) 

2. Medan (Campus Sumatera Utara University)

3. Secretariat Office, Jakarta

4. Office and Guest House, Wih Pesam, Bener Meriah District, Aceh Province
