Camera Trap Installation in Sumatran Rhino Habitat Area in the Gunung Leuser National Park area in South Aceh district

Camera traps were installed in the Gunung Leuser National Park area in South Aceh district to find out about the population of the Sumatran rhino and the condition of their habitat in this area at the moment. This activity was supported by The Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund in collaboration with Gunung Leuser National Park and Leuser International Foundation for more effective protection in the future.
The project activities included the installation of camera traps in the Sumatran rhino habitat area within Gunung Leuser National Park in South Aceh district, the monitoring of illegal activities in this area, and the raising of awareness among the local communities around the Sumatran rhino habitat area in the Leuser Ecosystem on the importance of protecting the Sumatran rhino.
